The Bookie Demolisher

Hello, My name’s Chris, and  I am now going to run a trial on an exciting new system called The Bookie Demolisher. It has been written by The Perfect Punter, who has a good track record of success. With The Bookie Demolisher, he makes great claims regarding the profits over the last 2 years. According The author, this system would have made you a profit of 1306.88 points during the last 2 years. A full breakdown of the betting selections over this period is available for download from the web site.

The theory behind the system is to look at specific trainers that are entering their horses at particular courses. Further filters are applied to the criteria to arrive at a potential selection.

The beauty of the system is in it’s simplicity. It will literally take you between 5 – 10 mins to look through an entire days race card and make your selections. Further more, you don’t have to be glued to the computer all afternoon and evening watching for steamers or drifters, and you can place your bets on your selections at any time of the day and then go off and come back later to find out the result.

During this trial, I will be using traditional bookmakers odds, so we wont need to factor in any betting exchange commissions. Most of the selections are reasonably high priced, so you would be able to get good value at the exchanges if you wanted to use them. Further more, you could use a bot then to place your bets for the day just before the off.

I am particularly looking forward to running this trial. If you look at the results over the last 2 years, you will be able to see that the losing runs are not long. Sure, you have regular losing runs, but they have always been counterbalanced and superseded by far greater valued winners.

For this trial, we shall start off with a bank of £1000, and betting shall be 1 point (1 point being 2% of starting bank).

Results for Day 1 (27th July 2009)

Betting Miracle

I am going to start a blog of Betting Miracle.

The manual is 18 pages long, but the system itself is about 1 page. There is some useful stuff on betting philosophy for noobies, and a usual tutorial about using Betfair. The manual also contains an illustrated example of how to navigate around the Racing Post website, and links to resources to enable research in to USA, Oz and NZ races.

For the purposes of this blog I will only record results for UK and Irish racing; mainly because the offshore data requires subscription fees and as we testers test for free I don’t want to be out of pocket.

There are 10 (well 11 really) rules which must be strictly adhered to. They are VERY easy to follow, and in about an hour last night I had processed the racing for the next day. This includes time taken to setup the results spreadsheet. This will undoubtedly become quicker with familiarity with the rules.

The astute amongst you will have just sussed that this works well with folks who work, in as much as you can pick your selections the night before if you have a Racing Post subscription. Otherwise, it is possible to make selections during lunch.

You will also have sussed that access to the Racing Post is required also.

Two bet types are suggested, backing in the win only market, and for the conservatives, backing in the place market. This is does NOT mean backing each way!

I will blog both backing methods.

I will be using Betfair SP allowing for 5% commission to record results. So, if you use this system it is entirely possible that you will get higher odds as I feel that the selections prices will tend to shorten as race time approaches.

I will use £10 level stakes, but, this system should lend itself to other staking plans quite easily, if the strike rate is as advertised.

I aim to record results for each day that there are selections; the advertising blurb suggests that there will be around 20 selections per month so selections each day is unlikely. This will be mainly, if not exclusively, flat races as one of the rules removes all National Hunt races for the near future, and certainly through the length of this trial.
