Betting Tips UK – Final Review

Having completed two months of trials it is time to wrap up and review this service.

This review is based on Betting Tips UK’s flagship service – Multi-Sports Betting. With this service I have followed bets on football, tennis, cricket, darts, Snooker and even Celebrity Big Brother! Betting Tips UK is unusual in as much as you only pay for winning bets. You do this by buying tokens for £2 with a sliding reduction down to a minimum of £1.50 if you buy in bulk. For Multi-Sports Betting you can decide whether to pay a token for each winning bet, or pay-on-performance where a token is deducted for every 0.25 points of profit. Pay-on-performance returns tokens if a loss is made.

I finished 2.85 points up, but because I haven’t used Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) through the trial there is a difference between my results and those of Betting Tips UK of 2.1 points.

Betting Tips UK suggest £25 per point off a £500 bank, and £50 per point of a £1,000 bank.

Using Betting Tips UK’s points tally and £50 per point, July grossed £1,114 and August £247. From this your tokens are deducted: 58 tokens for July (71 wins but some bets were discounted) and 61 for August. This leaves net profits of £1,027 in July and £156.00 for August using £1.50 per token.

A profit of £1,200 from a £1,000 bank after fees have been deducted is none too shabby and easily results in an approved rating. Unverified results for June also show a tidy profit of around 16 points too.

Two “howevers” though: 61 tokens, even at £1.50 per token, is roughly £90 for the service for a month; the service has been over 8 points down (on my figures) and at £50 per point that is a hefty chunk of bank. Neither of these worries me as the fees have been easily cleared, and the service returned to profit. I mention this as you need to note that you need the discipline to stick with your trading plan.

I believe Pay-on-performance would have deducted something like 90 tokens in July (£135) and 20 tokens (£30) in August. Swings and roundabouts here, good months you pay more but then your profit is that much greater, and in poor months you pay less. I do not have a preferred payment model.

You can also allocate tokens to a Horse Racing service. Only starting on 3^rd August this service stands at +16.98 points with a 47.7% strike rate at average odds of 2.60 with the longest losing streak of 6 bets. Pay-On-Wins is the only payment model available, and 41 tokens have been deducted. Of itself that is very impressive; at £50 per point the profit is £849 gross for a net of £787.50 at £1.50 per token. However Betting Tips UK recommends using a loss recovery stake plan with this service. Neither Betting Tips UK nor I recommend which stake plan to use; you will have to find your own!

Likewise you can also allocate tokens to a Football service. Only starting on 3^rd August this service stands at -11.54 points with a 49.3% strike rate at average odds of 1.84 with the longest losing streak of 4 bets. Pay-On-Wins is the only payment model available, and 37 tokens have been deducted. Again Betting Tips UK recommends using a loss recovery stake plan with this service. Neither Betting Tips UK nor I recommend which stake plan to use; you will have to find your own! With such a high strike rate and short losing sequence a profit from this service is easily achievable.

So the flagship service is approved, but the secondary services are also approved, although some effort to find a suitable stake plan is required. Both the secondary services are optional if you don’t want to research stake plans.

My first impressions as I have only been recording results for 14 days.

July has been an excellent moth with 20 plus points profit. The staking advice from Betting Tips UK is to stake £25 from a bank of £500 and £50 from a bank of £1,000. 20 points is therefore £500 and £1000 gross profit respectively.

From these profits the cost of your tokens need to be deducted. The base rate is £2 per token, but you can but tokens in bulk and using the cheapest option tokens are £1.50. Tokens are deducted for each win, but at their discretion Betting Tips UK sometimes does not deduct a token for a win. In July only 54 tokens were deducted for the 70 wins.

So, from a bank of £500, the gross profit is just over £500, and if you deduct 70 tokens at £2 each (£140) you’d still have been left with £360 profit, which is one heck of a return off £500 in one month! Of course the discount of 16 tokens actually means you’d have had a profit of £392.

It does make sense to use the cheaper option for tokens though, as 54 tokens at £1.50 adds an extra £27 profit, or £35 had all 70 tokens been deducted.

From a bank of £1,000 the profit looks even better at £919 using the £1.50 per token package (£892 using £2 per token).

However, one word of caution needs to be introduced here. July got off to an awful start and was 7.73 points down at one point. This is £193 down using £25 per bet and as this from a £500 bank, this means 38.5% of bank down.

I have had a quick look over the published data for June and May. It appears that June wasn’t so hot: 12 points of 94 wins, however even using £25 per bet and £2 per token this is £116 profit. May, on the other hand, appears to have been another stonker with 40 points off 48 wins for something like £900. These figures are unverified, and I might have calculated them incorrectly, but if accurate that is not a bad (read damned excellent!) return in 3 months.

There is a slight discrepancy between my recorded results and those from Betting Tips UK, this is because I have had to back-fit some of the data for July. However I get a slightly higher points total, so I am not concerned about this discrepancy. As the trial moves in to August our data should align more closely.

Betting Tips UK

This review was due to start several weeks ago. Due to a timewaster it didn’t so Graham has asked me to pick this up.

Betting Tips UK is a sports punditry service across several different sports, including Horse Racing, Tennis, Football and Rugby. The difference is that you buy tokens which are only consumed if the pundit provides a winning tip; i.e. you DO NOT PAY for losing tips. There is a true “pay-as-you-go” service where you get the tips for that day, however if you choose this option it is not provided on a win only basis (you DO pay for losing tips).

There is a free trial available of 20 tokens.

For the trial I will endeavour to use OddsChecker to confirm the odds when the advice is issued. It follows that I won’t be using Betfair prices on a regular basis and therefore I won’t be deducting commission. I will be using £25 fixed stakes.

As this trial should have started a few weeks ago I am going to publish results from 1^st July. Normally we don’t back test on Cash Masters, but Graham has been following these tips and has verified the results as accurate.

A total of 8.34 points.

There have been 34 wins, so from the above fees of £51 (at £1.50 per token) or £68 (at £2 per token) need to be factored in. At £25 per point then the profit is £208.54 gross for nets of £157.54 at £1.50 per token and £140.54 at £2.00 per token).
