Tennis Trading League

7th October 2013 – Day 41

Today’s overnight trades:

Vania King vs Luksika Kumkhum
Advice – Back King
As this was a qualifying match for the main tournament in Osaka, there is no detailed information on Flash Scores. As King lost the match 3:6; 5:7, this trade was probably lost.

Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova vs Zarina Diyas
Advice Back Zahlavova-Strycova
Same issue here, but Zahlavova-Strycova won the match 6:3; 6:2. So I would think that this trade probably won.

Monica Puig vs Heather Watson
Advice – Back Puig
The first set was riddled with breaks of serve – five in total. Puig was never behind in the first set, so a winning trade to be has here.

Eugenie Bouchard vs Varvara Lepchenko
Advice – Back Bouchard
The Lepchenko serve was broken twice in the first six games, to be 1:5 down. No doubts behind a winning trade.

Janko Tipsarevic vs Marcel Granollers-Pujol
Back Tipsarevic at 1.53
Lay at 1.30
Stop Loss at 2.56
TRADE LOST
Loss: £4.02

Gael Monfils vs Tatsuma Ito
Back Monfils at 1.22
Lay at 1.07
Stop Loss at 2.04
TRADE WON
Profit £1.33

Tommy Haas vs Sam Querrey
Back Haas at 1.61
Lay at 1.40
Stop Loss at 2.68
TRADE WON
Profit £1.43

There was one more trade advised for today, but the match appears to have been put back by 24 hours. Will report on that match once it has been played.

RM Lays – Introduction

I’m going to be testing RM Lays from the Tipster Warehouse for the next three months. As the name suggests this is a horse betting lay system. Selections are mailed to you each morning before 10.30am and give the time and course together with the name of the horse to lay. On average there are four to five selections a day (although this does mean that on some days no selections are advised).

So that members can check results the prices reported are at Betfair Starting Price (BSP). The service itself does not mandate any maximum odds to place bets at although some members use odds of 8.0 as a maximum. For the trial I will not place any limit on odds so that we can see how the service does against all selections advised.

The webpage reports that the longest losing run is 1 which is admirable given that members are trying to limit their liability when using the service. I will start with a betting bank of £1,000 and use £10 stakes per selection (5% commission will be deducted from all winning bets).

The cost of the service is normally £29.95 per month but you can take advantage of the current offer where you pay just £9.95 for the first month. Results to date show that on average monthly returns are 30 points. This is a very respectable return for a laying service so it will be interesting to see how we fair during the trial. We are coming to that ‘difficult’ period of the year as the flat season winds down and the jumps start. Maintaining the monthly average now would certainly prove that the system has potential.

You can try RM Lays for £9.95 here:

Tennis Trading League

6th October 2013 – Day 40

Just the three trades on the agenda for today, only the first one was too early in the day.

Juan Martin Del Potro vs Milos Raonic
Advice – Back Del Potro
A close first set, with no breaks of serve, break points only in the seventh game of the set, on the Del Potro serve. The game went to a tiebreak, Del Potro losing the first point, but breaking Raonic twice to take the set. Would have expected some movement in Del Potro’s price, but not enough I would have thought to invoke the stop loss.

Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal
Back Djokovic at 1.78
Lay at 1.50
Stop Loss at 2.96
TRADE WON
Profit £1.77

Serena Williams vs Jelena Jankovic
Back Williams at 1.12

Tennis Trading League

5th October 2013 – Day 39

Today’s trades that completed before I was up and about…

Milos Raonic vs Ivan Dodig
Advice – Lay Raonic
The first set had no breaks of serve, and only one break point, on Dodig’s serve. The tie break went to Raonic, so will go out on a limb here, and would feel that the trade lost.

Rafael Nadal vs Tomas Berdych
Advice – Lay Nadal
Berdych lost the opening game of the match, only to break Nadal straight away, only to lose his serve again in the fifth game.

That is nearly all she wrote here, as Berdych retired at the end of the sixth game with a back problem. Trade void.

Juan Martin Del Potro vs Nicolas Almagro
Advice – Back Del Potro
Almagro lost the first game of the match only to break Del Potro in game 4. Although Del Potro lost one serve during the tiebreak, he did go on to win the set, so a winning trade achieved.

Novak Djokovic vs Richard Gasquet
Lay Djokovic at 1.12

Just the one pre-daylight trade for today..

Tennis Trading League

3rd October 2013 – Day 37

The day’s overnight trades..

Edouard Roger-Vasselin vs Lukas Lacko
Advice – Back Roger-Vasselin
No breaks or break points on the Lacko serve in the first set. Roger-Vasselin lost the last game of the first set to lose the set 5:7. He never led the match. Stop loss would have been deployed after the end of the first set.

Stanislas Wawrinka vs Sam Querrey
Advice – Back Wawrinka
Wawrinka lost his service on the fifth game of the match, and was not in the lead of the match after that point. Stop loss would have been deployed after the end of the first set.

Jelena Jankovic vs Carla Suarez-Navarro
Advice – Back Jankovic
Nice and simple here – Suarez-Navarro bagelled not once but twice. A straightforward winning trade.

Kei Nishikori vs Feliciano Lopez

Tennis Trading League

2nd October 2013 – Day 36

Firstly, the trades I was unable to monitor..

Lleyton Hewitt vs Fabio Fognini
Advice – Lay Hewitt
Hewitt was “Bageled” in the first set (0:6). I would suspect a very quick and easy trade.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga vs Ivan Dodig
Advice – Lay Tsonga
Tsonga lost his serve in the third game of the first set, and not in front after that. A straightforward win.

Svetlana Kuznetsova vs Andrea Petkovic
Advice – Lay Kuznetsova
Another ladies’ match with service breaks all over the place, five in total. Petkovic lost her first two service games to be 0:3 down, only to come back to three all. She then lost her serve in the seventh game, and went onto lose the set 4:6. If the stop loss had not been hit with the double break, then Kuznetsova winning the set would have done.

Jarkko Nieminen vs Michal Przysiezny
Lay Nieminen at 1.40 (Achieved 1.37)
Back at 1.65

Horse Laying Professionals

Final Review

This is a nice, straightforward, horse laying service.

Selections are sent out by 8am by e-mail and you get between one and five bets each day. Odds are generally between 2.0 and 6.0 so no big losses on losing bets and you bet to level stakes so no chasing losses.

You simply get the e-mail, place your bets and you’re done for the day.

I use The Bet Engine to place my bets for me because it keeps a handy record of all the bets and profit/loss etc but you can just place your bets directly into Betfair when you get the e-mail, no bots required.

I felt confident about this service. It has five years of profitable results so I bet with real money at £25 level stakes.

I started on 22nd May and the results so far are:

Bets: 353
Successful: 266
Unsuccessful: 87
Strike Rate: 75.4
Avg Odds: 3.90

Profit: £1,147.21

Like any service, I expect this to have good and bad months. I had two great months where most of this profit was made, and two months where I drew about even.

At the moment I have no hesitation in giving this a massive thumbs up. I will certainly continue to use this service myself and will update my results on a monthly basis.

If you are looking for an easy, profitable, laying service for your portfolio then you should give this a go.

Tennis Trading League

1st October 2013 – Day 35

Firstly, today’s nocturnal trades

Carlos Berlocq vs Pablo Cuevas
Advice – Lay Berlocq
Berlocq won a very close first set on a tie-break. Looking through the details of the set, his serve was never troubled, unlike his opponent, where there were several games with break points. Cannot see anything but a losing trade here.

Ryan Harrison vs Horacio Zeballos
Advice – Back Harrison
Harrison was in front in the match just once in the first set, after one game. He lost the set 1:6, losing his serve three times in the process. He also lost his first service game in the second set, and at one point was 0:3 down in the second. Again, a losing trade the outcome.

Kevin Anderson vs Lukas Lacko
Advice – Back Anderson
Harrison was a short priced favourite here, and broke Lacko in the opening game, and the trade was looking at halve. If the target was not matched with the break, then I would believe the trade would have lost, as Lacko broke Anderson twice to win the first set 4:6, and was never behind after that.

Ivan Dodig vs Yuichi Sugita
Advice – Back Dodig
A much easier to read this match. Dodi broke Sugita in the fourth game, and was never behind. A winning trade here.

Kei Nishikori vs Jurgen Melzer
Advice – Back Nishikori
Nishikori lost his serve in the seventh game, and lost the set eventually on a tiebreak. He lost his serve in the second game of the second set. If the stop loss was not met on the loss of the first set, I am sure that the break in the second would have seen it deployed.

Gilles Simon vs Marcel Granollers-Pujol
Advice – Back Simon
Match cancelled, Simon withdrew.

Mikhail Youzhny vs Sam Querrey
Advice – Back Youzhny
Two consecutive breaks of serve, first by Youzhny, who then lost the first set on a tie break. He then went onto lose his service game in the second game of the second set, so if the stop loss had not already been deployed, then it would have been done here for another loss on the day.

Stanislas Wawrinka vs Andreas Seppi
Advice – Lay Wawrinka
Wawrinka lost the seventh game of the first set, and eventually the first set 4:6. A winning trade to be found here.

Fernando Verdasco vs Somdev Devvarman
Advice – Back Verdasco
Verdasco broke the Devvarman serve in the opening game, and although dropping his serve to go 5:5, went onto win the set in a tiebreak. So, if the early break didn’t produce a win, then at would surely have happened with the set going his way.

Carla Suarez-Navarro vs Davis
Advice – Back Suarez-Navarro
Suarez-Navarro was a heavy favourite here, the first set seeing no less than five service breaks, three for Davis. As Suarez-Navarro was not behind, the trade would surely have won during the set, if not when the set was won.

Yen-Shun Lu vs Nikolay Davydenko
Lay Lu at 1.50

Tennis Trading League

30th September 2013 – Day 34

As usual, we’ll start with the day’s early games..

Bernard Tomic vs Ze Zhang
Advice – Back Tomic
Whilst Tomic lost his second service game, and was 1:3 down, pulled level at 5:5. There was then a break of serve for each before heading into a tie break. Tomic was 5:2 up during the tie break, so I would have thought that the trade would have won at this point.

Alexandr Dolgopolov vs Daniel Brands
Advice – Back Dolgopolov
Dolgopolov won the first set 6:3, breaking the Brands serve twice, without being behind. No issues with the trade in my view.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga vs Gael Monfils
Advice – Back Tsonga
Monfils lost his first service game in the second game of the match, losing the first set without ever being in front. A straight forward trade is what I would have expected here.

Bojana Jovanovski vs Sorana Cirstea
Advice – Lay Jovanovski
Cirstea lost her two opening service games, to go 0:3 down, and was never ahead in the match. The stop loss would have been deployed.

Ana Ivanoic vs Flavia Pennetta
Advice – Back Ivanovic
Ana lost her first two service games, and was 1:5 down at one point, before coming back to win the set on a tie break. With this performance, I would expect the stop loss to be hit.

Onto those trades that took place a little later in the day…
