Time Shift Trader

I had to do my trade on the move today using the Capital Spreads app on the iPhone. It’s more fiddly, there’s no doubt about that, but certainly doable and no doubt gets easier with practice.

It was a loser, which was a shame, but we’re still well up.

Day 7: -£200

Total: +£600

There is evidence that people are still struggling with the scalping method, but I think it is slowly coming together. It certainly isn’t a race, and ForEx does take a while to learn.

I am in hospital for routine check-ups Friday and Monday so I am blogging this week’s data early. I also missed Tuesday as way too much distractions here to trade. Decorating nearly completed, and a new bed Thursday next week then I should be able to concentrate properly.

Week 3

23-Jan 09:55 Sell 12 12

25-Jan 10:39 Sell 22 22
26-Jan 08:10 Sell 7 7
26-Jan 08:21 Sell 12 12

26-Jan 10:05 Buy 14 0
26-Jan 10:32 Buy 20 20
26-Jan 11:48 Sell 14 0
26-Jan 14:52 Sell 7 7

Week 3 total: 123 pips for £1,230 at £10 per pip, or £176 using Roz’s stake plan (40 pips per day, 4% risk and a £1,000 starting balance) . Next week using Roz’s stake plan I will trade at £1.61 per pip.

Overall total: 514 pips for £5,140 at £10 per pip, or £609 using Roz’s stake plan.

Usual caveats apply:

Trading ForEx is discretionary; I’ll see trades other people won’t and miss trades that they take. We all read the market differently; therefore your results will be different from mine. Further, I am experienced trader with over 4 years experience. Although I try my best not to colour my trials with this experience it is impossible to remove it completely.

Time Shift Trader

Day 1: -£200

Total: -£200

Well a losing trade on the first day at £10 a pip.

Looking back over the last 14 days shows a profit of around £1,200 but of course that’s back testing. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

Time Shift Trader

I’m going to be testing out Time Shift Trader over the next few months. You get a 74 page manual which is concise and well written. If you have trading experience you need only go to the main system information but if you have no trading experience at all then it covers opening a spread betting account, finding the market, and how to place your trade.

There is no fluff or filler, it’s a good manual, and comes with e-mail support from the author should you have any questions.

On to the system and this is not a new method of trading by any means. I basically had an idea of what it was from reading the sales page and it was exactly as I expected. It is almost entirely the same as Quick Trade FX which we are also testing at the moment, however the difference here is the particular market we are trading on, and the time at which the trade is placed, in this case between 1pm and 1.25pm.

This suits me fine actually as I cannot at present trade early mornings.

All you have to do is login to your spread betting platform at some point between 1pm and 1.25pm, check the price on a particular market and place a particular type of trade with a set stop loss and profit target.

The stop loss is always 20 pips and the profit target is between 10pips and 40 pips and left up to you but comes with a chart showing the results of past trades with various targets, their profits and strike rates.

According to the chart a profit target of 40 pips is more profitable but only has a 41.7% strike rate, whereas a profit target of 10 has an 80% strike rate but less overall profit.

For the sake of simplicity I shall go for a 3:2 ratio, so a profit target of 30 pips with a 20 pip stop loss. Apparently this has a 53.3% strike rate and if the numbers stack up, should provide a profit over time.

This is a nice, simple, relaxed trading method. Whether it proves profitable or not remains to be seen.

The system comes with a full, no quibble, 30 day money back guarantee.

Trade 4X Pro

There have been some slight changes to the way this is traded, with some new indicators. I am still looking at a 40 pip per day target, and the cash-masters standard £10 per pip still applies. However, there is also a change to Roz’s staking method. As I am going for 40 pips per day I am going to use 4% risk. This requires a recalculation of the first weeks profit total which was based on 2% risk as follows:

Week 1 total: 172 pips for £1,720 at £10 per pip, or £172.00 using Roz’s stake plan, 40 pips per day,  4% risk  and a £1,000 starting balance. Week 2 will use £1.17 per pip.

I will also be using 1:1 risk/reward for 1 minute entries and 2:1 for 15 minute entries.

Week 2

Happily able to trade more than I feared :)

I stopped trading early on Friday as I was struggling a bit with a cluster headache, Roz says she doesn’t trade Friday afternoons, and pip target for the week has been exceeded anyways..

Week 2 total: 219 pips for £2,190 at £10 per pip, or £260.91 using Roz’s stake plan, 40 pips per day, 4% risk and a £1,000 starting balance. Next week using Roz’s stake plan I will trade at £1.43 per pip.

Overall total: 391 pips for £3,910 at £10 per pip, or £432 using Roz’s stake plan.

Usual caveats apply:

Trading ForEx is discretionary; I’ll see trades other people won’t and miss trades that they take. We all read the market differently.

Your results will be different from mine. I have had an exceptionally good week, many others did not.
