Betfair Trading Expert

I am going to be testing Betfair Trading Expert by Matt Abraham. There are 4 Tennis systems and 2 Football (Soccer if I must) based trading systems. The manuals come with instructions on how to trade and match selections.

The Tennis may be a wee bit thin on the ground as it is very much end of season. I will see what I can pick up with what is remaining.

The difficulty with regards trading is it can be so subjective. Am I in a good/bad mood, how do I feel about the profit/loss I just made, am I on drugs and/or drunk, and millions of other factors. Profit and loss will also depend on when I take the trade, for example I could make more if I hold on a few more minutes, then lose the lot because that is when the equaliser is scored! I will look at closing open trades within 60 seconds of the match becoming unsuspended (for football). For tennis I’ll aim for about 10 seconds or less after the trigger event.

Stakes are advised at 5% of bank, so I’ll start with £1000 bank and see where this takes us.

Tradeshark Tennis – Final Review

The review of this service has come to an end. Since the last update, I have traded a further 7 matches of which six were winners and one was a loser. The final trading position is as follows:

Original bank     £200

P&L                  £43.74

New bank          £243.74

This represents a return of over 21% in a two month period. The liquidity in the tennis markets on Betfair is very good so there is no reason why similar levels of return could be achieved on bigger banks.
As I mentioned at the start of this review, Tradeshark is more of a service than a system.  The service provides the basic trading strategies for tennis, daily tips and advice on which matches are suitable and real time support through the chatroom (or through skype).  However ultimately trading success will depend on the individual trader and their ability to read the market and to apply the strategies correctly. I started off as someone who had trading experience but little knowledge of trading the tennis markets. Tradeshark provided me with the basic tools and understanding of tennis trading and I now feel comfortable trading in these markets. This service is suitable for people who want to really get to grips the tennis markets. It is not a point and shoot system that you only need to spend a few minutes a day on. Tennis matches happen at all times of day and can go on for 4 or 5 hours, so tennis traders have to be available for large chunks of time.
In terms of the service, I have to say that the levels of support and advice are extremely good. There is a website, a forum, a blog and and a chatroom. Tradeshark is always willing to provide help and answers e-mails immediately with detalied answers.  What I also like about Tradeshark is that he treats you like a  fellow trader. He lets you know what he is trading and how he is performing on a particular match.

It is refreshing to have a service where you have so much access to the owner and where there is no hype, just plain talk about tennis trading. For £29 you gain lifetime membership which gives you access to all of the support I have mentioned. This is extremely good value. You are also joining a tennis trading community where thoughts and ideas are exchanged by tennis traders around the world.
Tradeshark has recently updated the website and revised most of the trading strategies.   In addition he currently testing a new strategy that will be launched shortly.
I have no hesitation in putting this service in the approved category. My advice to any potential tennis traders would  be that this service is a great strarting point but you need to put in the hours to make it really work.

Tradeshark Tennis

Here is a quick update, I will give a full review of this service at the end of the month. I traded three matches in the Sony Ericcson Open over the last week and all of them turned out to be winners. There was real benefit in being in the chatroom during the games as for one of the matches I switched at an early stage of the match, which resulted in a tidy profit.

Original bank     £200

P&L                  £26.51

New bank          £226.51

Tradesharktennis

Here is a quick update. So far I have traded five matches using the beginner’s stategy and the back the server strategy. Trading on four of the five matches has proved profitable and my bank now stands at £209.73. I am hoping to do some more trading over the next few days as the Indian Wells tournament gets into full swing. The chat room is useful for checking that you are following the strategies correctly.

Trade Shark has asked me to mention that the single set skype sessions are free as part of the membership, it is only if you require the service for more than one set that you have to pay extra.

Original Bank     £200

P&L                   £9.73

Current Bank     £209.73

Tradesharktennis

Tradesharktennis is a service that provides strategies and support for trading the in-play tennis markets on Betfair. Members who join the service are provided with five trading strategies and access to a forum, a chatroom, extensive videos of the strategies being applied and e-mail support from Tradeshark. There is also a Skype service whereby you can view Tradeshark trade a match live (there is an extra charge for this service).

Tradesharktennis is not so much a system but more an education in how to trade the tennis markets. Tradeshark is a trader himself and he set up the website as he feels that it would have been extremely useful when he started out as a tennis trader. There is a wealth of tennis related information on the website although as Tradeshark points out, he is a trader rather than a website deisgner.

My first impressions on reading through the strategies and the forum are very good. The strategies clearly set out the types of matches to trade, the entry and exit points and the expected price movements. Every day Tradeshark posts details of the matches that are most suitable for the strategies. He also gives his view as to who is most likely to win the match and why.

Over the next few weeks I will be trading the strategies. I will start off with the beginner’s strategy and then move onto the more advanced strategies. I will use a bank of £200 and will trade in lots of £10.

In order to trade the strategies, members require access to trading software with hedging functionality. Tradeshark provides advice on which software to use but members should familiarise thenselves with the software before trading live. Another point to note is that all the strategies require traders to monitor the match in-running either on TV or online. As tennis matches take place all over the globe and can last up to five hours, this can be quite demanding on the trader’s time.

There is not much tennis on this week so I will provide an update next week.

Game, Set & Match PunterReviewed by Chris

Hi – I would like to offer a review of the Game, Set & Match Punter manual. As you know, we usually carry out a minimum of a 1 month trial of a system here at Cash Master. The study of Game, Set & Match Punter however, will be slightly different. Instead of doing a one month trial, I will be evaluating the manual in a review format. The reason for this is because Game, Set & Match Punter is not a system as such.

If you are in to tennis, and would like to study the game further (either from a spectators point of view, or a betting point of view), then this manual is ideal. It goes in to fine detail about what affects particular play, or players, and is indeed a comprehensive 107 page document.

The manual begins with an introduction to what it covers, and quickly opens with the fundamentals of what to look out for.

Contents Include:

1. Introduction
2. A little about tennis betting
3. The surfaces
The author goes in to great detail regarding the different surfaces, and how the surfaces affect the ball and play, the advantages and disadvantages of particular surfaces, and which players are best suited accordingly. This section alone offers excellent insight and value.
4. The ranking system
5. The tournaments
The author goes in to detail about the various tournaments around the world, and which players perform best at which tournament
6. The players
This is the largest section of the manual. The author provides a comprehensive overview of the main players in the WTA & ATP tournaments, highlighting strengths and weaknesses, and what to look out for to capture and optimize potential betting opportunities. This section is highly informative and offers the reader essential valuable data which is essential if you are to start out or better your tennis betting venture.
7. Form study
The form study section is a logical assessment of a game you might consider to bet on. The author goes in to detail about how to study form, and what to be mindful of
8. Off court factors
Finally, the author puts the icing on the cake, by offering insightful
information in to off court factors that can seriously affect the outcome of a game. These off court factors are key in many games, and arm the informed punter with the knowledge to be able to spot those hard to find, but crucial value bets.

Game, Set & Match Punter is indeed a comprehensive scientific study of tennis. The author does offer a kind of system that you can use to find a qualifying bet. This system is in the form of a point system. By utilising the form data, the author shows a logical basis by which the reader can score a player. The player that meets the high score criteria is the one to back, or the other player, to lay. The author makes it clear, that the semi system should not be used on it’s own, but as a foundation for a bet. The other factors he teaches should be adopted before making a conclusion as to which game qualifies as a value bet.

The author also offers various approaches to trading on the betting exchanges, and how to find games that offer the best opportunities.

My personal opinion of the Game, Set & Match Punter manual, is that it is essential if you want to achieve a successful approach to tennis betting. The knowledge base provided in the manual is well worth the money you pay for it. However, I would say, that this manual is for the serious punter, and not the lazy one. I have no doubt that if you follow this guide, and apply the teachings, you will win at betting on tennis. The down side to the success is the time it will take you to study the daily betting opportunities. You will need to be committed to making a go of it, and spend a couple of hours per day (if you do it correctly). If you are willing to do this, then I see no reason why you wouldnt be able to make a success of tennis betting.
