This is a straight forward affair where tips are emailed to you mid morning. You are advised to stake 2% of bank per bet.
I did have one query when I received advise to place both a Trixie and a Treble (you can choose to do either or both, the tipster does both so we shall do the same) and I was a little unclear on the staking for the Trixie part. A Trixie, for those that don’t know, is a multiple leg bet where 3 selections are given and they are backed in 3 doubles and a treble. So a total of 4 bets spread across the 3 selections. I was unclear on whether to split the advised 2% stake across the 4 or whether to stake 2% for each leg. I did receive a prompt response advising me to do the latter, so a Trixie will be recorded as 4 point bet. I used a £500 start bank, so a basic stake of £10 a point. Subs are a fairly reasonable £17 a month or £167 a year.
I have been recording the results for Best Betfair Football Trader since 17th of January and it is now time to give a final verdict.
Unfortunately, there’s not much suspense as to the verdict. The bank has not been above its starting point since the 2nd day of the trial.
There have also been a few too many errors in selection emails for my liking. Most have been smallish mistakes (like selection name missed off, but you can work it out from price & fixture info) but one was a big one that actually gave the previous week’s fixture for the team involved. I was unable to get the correct info in time to place the bet, the bet (a trixie & treble) won and would have provided a temporary boost to the bank, although nowhere near enough to lift the overall figures into positive territory. To be fair, the frequency of these errors has lessened over the last month.
Now to the figures:
END OF TEST FIGURES:
BETS 100 (coincidence, irrelevant to trial length)
AV ODDS 3.73
AV WIN ODDS 2.68 (distorted by 2 trixie & treble wins. ave win odds without multi 1.94)
PROFIT/LOSS -£348.96 (based on £10 level stakes)
JAN (part) -£108.77
APRIL (part) +£49.30
