Ok, so today I’ve changed the settings to stop at a profit of £50 (actually £49.95 to allow for discrepancies). Now, Terry e-mailed me to remind me of a possible ‘flaw’ to this plan (thanks Terry) which is the fact that the bot only knows if a race has won or lost when your bet gets settled. It can take Betfair 10-15 minutes sometimes to settle a bet which will mean the bot may have already bet on the next selection if the races are 10 minutes apart, which they frequently are. There is a setting within the bot which tells it not to bet until the previous bet has been settled but this would mean missing a lot of bets so I think the only thing we can do is put up with it or, as in my case today, watch the results after the fourth bet and stop it manually. At some point the fifth bet is going to be a loser and this would mess up the plan a bit but in this case it would just keep running and hopefully recovering over the course of the day.

So onto today, aiming for £12.50 per race (I thought £50 a day was a good initial goal), the first four matched bets lost as hoped so I’m done and dusted.
