Five Figure Betting
This is a one off review using my database of recent data.
The system costs ÂŁ24.95. For that you get an 8-page PDF, 7 pages of which is a table of previous results.
The system has 5 rules, the final one being to Lay the selection, so in reality the system has 4 rules. The first rule is woolly, but I elected this to mean no joint favourites.
The PDF admit’s to only 190 selections since 2008, so don’t expect a lot of action.
Selections can be made the evening before with suitable Racing Post subscription package, and are fire and forget, i.e. once you have found a selection you lay it and move on to the next. So this system can be used by 9to5ers.
I have two major issues with the manual:
The advertised return of 65K per year is made using 1k stakes! Most of us are not going to be able to risk that sort of money. Even then we are talking a 65 point return for nearly 2 years of betting (as demonstrated in the manual).
The manual shows returns to Industry SP. We know Betfair, and you need to use Betfair because we are laying) has higher odds, often much higher odds. Therefore I think the published results underplay the impact of losses on the total profit.

I am going to categorise this as failed then. The reasons for this are: 65 point return in 2 years is not high enough to “quit the day job”, low number of selections,  the published results are suspect due to using the incorrect odds and the 5 weeks of data I have the system did not return a reasonable profit. At this level of return you will die of old age before your bank begins to look healthy!
Also note one of the bets was at 30.33, the Industry SP for this was 13. OK, it lost, but you don’t need many winners above 10 to ruin your bank.
