Almost a month since my last update on Goal King.
The first two weeks of the new year were mainly about bouncing from 5 points down, to 5 points up, then back down again. The following two have been tougher and we have seen the bank take a bit of a hit this week.
Last weekend wasn’t too bad with 5 of 8 bets winning, but they were all Odds On shots, so didn’t do much to pull us back up.
Current Figures:
Bets 71
Wins 36
Void 4
S/R 50.7%
Av Odds 1.78
P/L -11.15 points (ÂŁ111.15 at ÂŁ10 a point)
DETAILED RESULTS FOR GOAL KING
Trying not to be negative about this service, but:
(1) As at 28th January, the on-line results have not been updated after 2nd January – and even those results aren’t in date order, and
(2) On 26th January the service provider boasted in an email of “5/8 winners last week” – but my total profit (after 5% commission) for that period was about 0.5 points – and for each bet I got better odds on Betfair than at the bookies. As all seasoned “investors” know, the number of winners is irrelevent – especially if the selections are odds-on – it’s the profit that is all important ,,,
I would expect better from anyone who charges for their advices …
As with a Cashmaster review, I’m giving this service a fair trial period, but I have to say that so far the results have been disappointing …
Hi Robert
Thanks for your comments, I agree with them all.
Re the update on the Official Results, I did comment on this myself on one of the early updates and that leads me to wonder whether they only do it at the start of a month. It’ll be interesting to see if they have been updated by next weekend.
The date order business is very weird, isn’t it? It’s the same in the selection emails. They jump back and forth in those too, can only think it’s something to do with them running a few different systems and listing the bets in system order rather than strict date order, but it is odd and it’s a bit of a pain when copying them over to a spreadsheet or looking up to find the best odds.
Yes. the 5 out of 8 boast irritated me too, hence my comment on the update. Would have been far better to say nothing than boast about managing to break even and getting on customers’ nerves like that.
All we can do is give them a fair go and see if the can turn it round. Not great so far though, is it.
