I’ve been recording results for this software based system for the last couple of week. As the name suggests, it looks for Lay The Draw selections. This version is only used on English and Scottish leagues.

Once you’ve purchased the software (Windows PCs only and ÂŁ49.99 for license up to end of next season) and you’ve registered it, all you need do is click on the “Scan” tab and a list of upcoming matches is displayed.

The sales page does explain exactly how these selections are obtained. The idea is that teams do not draw two games in a row, so if a team draw a game their next match will be a selection. If the bet wins the team stays in the database, if the bet loses the team is eliminated from the database.

There are no further rules or filters.

I would usually consider doing a one-off review for this sort of thing but I’ve decided to run a proper blog test as I’m rather sceptical about the method.

There’s no discrimination between the home or away aspect, nor is the selected team’s opposition considered. So you’re purely basing a selection on the fact that one of the teams playing drew their last game.

So, its only fair to give it a fair crack of the whip to prove one way or the other. I’ve set up a notional 100pt bank and staking 1 point lay on all selections provided by the software. I’d always allow a 100pt bank for a laying service due to the higher overall liability than a backing service
