Another couple of big priced places this week.
Although, to be honest, I’m unsure about including one of them in the figures. The service themselves have said they will NOT be including Maverick McNealy in their official results, but I am going to include him in mine.
This is copied from the selection email I received last Tuesday:
Maverick McNealy
Another guy who’s form has been consistent, but hasn’t threatened the top end of the leader board since the Fortinet Championship at the start of the season. Not to sound like a broken record this week, but there’s huge value in triple odds on a guy that I feel can break-through very soon. He’s made huge strides in his approach work this season and whilst he missed the cut here in his first start that will at least give him some course knowledge.
Each-Way Winner
Best Available Odds: 90/1 with Several (Paddy Power and Betfair are offering 6 places) – Stake 1.5 points (0.75 points each-way)
Lowest Acceptable Odds: 66/1
I received that email at 2.30am last Tuesday. Obviously, I wasn’t going to check the prices then, I checked them around mid morning and found that I could get the 90/1 for 8 places, so that’s what I recorded the bet as being. So his 7th place finish is a win for me. I think I’m justified in recording that, the advice you are given is fairly loose, I think you are always going to be better off sacrificing a little on the price to get the extra place or two. In this case, I didn’t need to make any sacrifice and I took the best bet available to me at the time. Fair play to the service for not including it in theirs.
We also has Adam Scott placed at 40/1 this week, puling the deficit back to a loss of 65 points.
