FINAL REVIEW
I’ve been testing the Stat Attack laying system for approximately 2 months now which I think is a pretty reasonable length of time to form an opinions as to whether it is a good product or not.
To recap, Stat Attack is actually 3 laying systems in one. By running all 3 system concurrently, one would hope to eliminate any wild fluctuations in the betting bank and produce steady long term profits. The rules for all 3 systems are very simple, and do not require a specialist racing paper such as the Racing Post to operate. It rarely takes longer than 5 minutes to produce a shortlist of potential lay selections on any given day, which is a big plus for those who don’t like spending a lot of time trawling through racecards and past form. Interestingly I only had 1 selection from the 3rd system throughout the whole trial. This is due to the fact that it only applies to National Hunt races over 3 miles or more, and given that I was testing in the thick of the Flat season this is understandable.
Each system has a strict upper limit on the odds at which selections can be layed (7.0 typically being the highest), and what usually happens is that the shortlist of potential selections is whittled down to 2 or 3 actual lay bets when the price filters are applied. I have to say at this point that anyone wishing to use this system would benefit greatly from using an automated bet placement tool such as The Grey Horse Bot. This is in fact how I ran the trial. I would simply enter the selections into the GHB each morning (with the maximum price filters), start the bot and then check to see how it had performed at the end of the day. Very easy!

Over the course of the trial, the system managed to turn a profit of just under 18 points, which takes into account the maximum 5% Betfair commission and real exchange lay odds. One annoying thing is that the author and publisher quote their past results to SP and don’t take commission into account, thus overinflating the system performance. This is a very cynical tactic used by a lot of system sellers, but in this case the system still managed a decent profit using REAL conditions.
I have to say that overall I was impressed with the way this system performed. I did have strong doubts initially (mainly due to the suspect reporting of past results), but a profit of almost 18 points in 2 months isn’t bad at all, especially when one considers the amount of time investment required to operate it.
I would therefore give this system a “thumbs up”, as it certainly has the potential to become a worthwile addition to anyones betting portfolio. I will certainly be keeping a close eye on this one myself over the coming months, especially as the Jumps season comes into effect.
