FINAL REVIEW

This is a selection system from Anthony Gibson, and comes in the form of a seventeen page e-book. Without giving away too much about the system, selections are made from certain trainers, with a price floor of 5/1 (6.0 on Betfair).

No form study is required, but access to the free information on the Racing Post website is. It is possible to find selections the night before racing, but access to the morning prices means that access to a computer is required fairly early in the day.

For those that like an easy life, selections are available from 11am on a dedicated phone line.

A betting bank of 50 points is suggested within the book, using level stakes only, and I used bets of ÂŁ5 per selection for the test. I recorded prices at approximately 10.30 (both best bookmaker and Betfair), and the Starting Prices from Betfairs results website.

The final results were as follows:

Bookmaker Early Prices:
Loss: ÂŁ242.50

Betfair Early Prices:
Loss: ÂŁ237.50

Bookmaker Starting Prices:
Loss: ÂŁ237.50

Betfair Starting Prices:
Loss: ÂŁ230.56

During the test, which I ran from 9th December to 21st February, in the main due to the appalling weather we had during January and the early part of February, there were:

Potential Selections: 210
Remaining Selections, after passing Early Price criteria: 87
Winners: 5
Strike Rate: 5.7%

Having looked back at the results, all of the winning selections were between 6.00 and 8.50 in the early morning prices.

The potential selections produced 33 winners, at a strike rate of 26.8%, which at the Bookmaker Early prices, would have produced a loss of ÂŁ178.68.

Whilst I believe that the systems criteria has merit in how the selections are made, this has not passed out into the results, and I have no alternative to rate the test has having failed.
